Outbreak Declaration at London Hall
April 17, 2021
We have been made aware of six cases of COVID-19 over the past week involving London Hall residents. The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) has declared this an outbreak.
The University is collaborating with the MLHU on contact tracing and is supporting students who require quarantining. All positive cases are moved immediately outside of residence for isolation. If you are considered a close contact to one of the positive cases, the MLHU will be communicating with you directly.
As an investigative measure, the MLHU has directed that all students at London Hall receive a COVID-19 test. Medical staff from Student Health Services will be on-site at London Hall Monday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. to do a COVID test at your apartment door. If you have a final exam that morning, please leave a note on your door so we do not knock and interrupt you. Those writing exams will be asked to attend the campus testing centre once your exam is done. Self-identify as being from London Hall upon entry to the testing centre.
As shared in our previous communications, COVID-19 variants are fuelling transmission in the region. Please significantly limit your contacts to only one other individual—either a roommate/suitemate or a person from your floor—to reduce any potential exposure or spread.
You are still able to leave your room, access the dining hall, and utilize the front desk. Due to the provincial stay-at-home order, you should only leave the building for essential purposes (i.e. accessing health services, outdoor exercise, academic reasons).
We also want to assure you that students who test positive for COVID-19 do not face any negative repercussions or consequences.
