Retrieving Your Personal Belongings
January 11, 2021
With Western’s recent announcement that in-person classes are delayed until February 21, you would have received a follow-up email update from our office regarding the impact this will have on residence. To support the health & wellness of yourself and our community, residences will reopen in early to mid-February with a staggered return.
We recognize you may have course materials, academic supplies, and/or health devices/medications that you may require from your residence room. We wanted to provide an update on how these items can be accessed.
University staff retrieval
With your consent, two University employees will enter your room to retrieve your course materials, academic supplies, health devices or medications, and we will ship them to you at no cost. Please note we are unable to ship electronics such as laptops. We ask that you complete this form by 12:00 noon Friday, January 15, indicating what item(s) you require, the approximate location of where we might find the item(s) in your room, your contact information and mailing address for shipping purposes.
Purolator will be used for shipments, and it will take 1–2 business days from the date of shipment for Canadian addresses. All shipments will be trackable through the Purolator website.
If you would like to retrieve course materials, academic supplies, health devices or medications from your residence room yourself, please contact your front desk to book an appointment. Appointments will be available starting tomorrow January 12. All students entering the residence to pick up belongings will be asked health assessment questions by the front desk prior to gaining access.
We will provide further information at the end of the week regarding the refund/credit of residence fees, for the time you do not have access to your residence room due to the delayed re-opening. You will also receive information regarding registration for your future return date to residence in the next communication.
Thanks for your patience during this evolving situation. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We are here to help.
