According to the World Health Organization, Sexual Health “... is fundamental to the overall health and well-being of individuals, couples and families, and to the social and economic development of communities and countries.”
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are extremely common. We can stay informed on how someone can prevent, get tested and treat STI. The Ministry of Health explains that “STIs can be treated and managed. But if left untreated, they can cause serious health problems.” It is very important that we normalize and welcome the common practice of accessing sexual health resources – as this allows us to prioritize our wellness and the wellness of our community.
Please feel free to click here to learn more about common symptoms of STIs. However, it is extremely important to be mindful that at times – some infections may be asymptomatic.
“Always take steps to protect yourself and others by using condoms during sexual activity” (Ministry of Health, 2020).
