They’re also responsible for repairs and maintenance work. Do you need something repaired? Go to your front desk to make a maintenance request with Facilities Management.Resident's CouncilsResidents' Councils develop and maintain self-government while providing programming to build a positive community. They represent residents’ needs and interests by providing input on residence issues and acting as a liaison with other student councils. In the fall, each Council will host elections for floor representatives or junior commissioners, which is a great way to get involved in your building community. Residents' CouncilResidence SophsResidence Sophs are upper-year student volunteers who welcome first-year students to Western and serve as leaders and mentors throughout the year. Sophs work with Residence Staff to build your floor into a community and enhance your residence experience. Residence sophsFront Desk StaffResidence Secretaries, Assistants, and Clerks look after the front desk with the support of the Residence Operations team. They handle administrative functions, call for emergency assistance when needed, answer phone calls, take maintenance requests, and coordinate mail distribution. They also dispatch on-call Dons to address student concerns. Support is always just a call away, day or night. FRONT DESKWestern Apartments TeamCommunity Development Coordinator (CDC)The Community Development Coordinator helps provide support and community building activities to Platt’s Lane Estates and University Apartments. They organize programs designed to support undergraduate, graduate and international students as well as their families who are living in our community. The CDC helps provide regular updates from administration. The CDC also organizes the Platt’s Lane Estates Tenant’s Council which is designed to advocate on behalf of the students living in the community and plan events that meet the needs of all residents. CONTACT YOUR CDCRental Office StaffOur two rental offices at Platt’s Lane Estates and Bayfield Hall are open daily to meet the needs of our tenants. Our team of Rental Clerks can assist you with viewing apartments, understanding your lease, signing a lease, taking rent payments and helping in the event that something goes wrong. The Rental Office staff work closely with our facilities maintenance team to ensure our apartments, townhouses and grounds are clean and safe for our tenants.CONTACT US Dining Hall StaffStaff in our Dining Halls are the friendly faces that greet, serve, cook and cash out residents and Housing staff daily.
