Hanukkah, also known as the “Festival of Lights,” is a Jewish festival that celebrates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem after a victory for the Maccabees in 164 BC. The holiday is celebrated with the lighting of the menorah, traditional food, games, and gifts.
Good luck on your final exams and assignments!
Students must leave residence by noon on Wednesday, December 23, or 24 hours after their last exam (whichever comes first). See you in the new year!
This holiday celebrates Jesus Christ’s birth over 2000 years ago, and is typically celebrated by lighting candles, exchanging gifts, and using evergreen decorations. It is the most widely observed Christian festival of the year.
